President of Mansoura University honors the university’s students with disabilities who won first places of the Republic in the project of supporting e-government and innovation

On March 13, 2024, Prof. Cherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, honored university students with disabilities who won first places in the “Together for Integrating Persons with Disabilities into the Public Sector” competition, within the framework of the project to support e-government and innovation in public administration.
In the presence of Prof. Mohamed Attia, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Nevin Abdel Khalek, Director of the Center for Services for Persons with Disabilities at the University, the project’s integration consultant, and the team’s coach.
Prof. Cherif Khater, said that the university pays great attention to supporting students with disabilities, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to all state institutions on the necessity of working to place their empowerment, training, and integration into society at the top of priorities, in order to improve the lives of these people, ensuring that they obtain their full rights, as well as their active role in building the nation.
He expressed his pride in his students, who have proven that they always have the ability, will, and determination to challenge difficulties and achieve the impossible. They demonstrated that within each one of them there is a determination that drives him towards excellence and distinction, and they were able to achieve a distinguished success in the competition, which was praised by local and international court authorities. Stressing that they are the future and pride of Egypt, and that Mansoura University always seeks to provide all means of support and facilities, overcome difficulties, and provide means of comfort for its students with special needs.
Prof. Mohamed Attia said the university’s care for students with disabilities, emphases the provision of all means of support and work to provide all facilities for them, and the interest in rehabilitation, training, and acquisition of various skills and experiences through the services center for persons with disabilities at the university and the service units in faculties and the Student Welfare Administration, to ensure their effective participation in all different student activities, and to achieve the desired integration into society, which had a positive impact on increasing their participation rates in various fields and activities, and their excellence in obtaining advanced positions during all forums.
The winners of the first three places were honored: first place went to student Tony Naji Magdy, a student in the 4th year at the Faculty of Law, while second place was won by Souad Samir Ahmed - a master’s researcher at the Faculty of Education, and third place was won by Zainab Sabry Abdel Halim - a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Arts.
The following were also honored: Jannat Moawad Abdel Khabeer, doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Arts, Mahmoud Hisham Farag, 4th year, Faculty of Law.
It is worth noting that the project of supporting e-government and innovation in public administration was implemented by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development in cooperation with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German government, and in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
